Welcome to Sheila’s Sewing!

For years and years, if asked what my “dream job” would be, I always replied, “Sewing!  And doing it in my home so I’d never have to get out of my pajamas!”

Part of that dream has come true.  With the encouragement of friends and family, I started my own sewing and alterations business in the summer of 2009.  Now I sew full time from my home….but not in my pajamas.  It’s just too easy to be lazy when I've got my pajamas on.

I was infected with the joy of sewing while taking a semester of sewing in high school.  The following year, I created my own costume for a role as the Wicked Stepmother in our school’s production of Cinderella.  My sewing machine hasn't stopped humming since.

Along with making most of my children’s clothing when they were small, I customized their bedrooms with fun curtains and drapes.  Halloween was always an exciting time; I had an excuse to get crazy with ideas to make the kids’ imaginations “come alive”!

Today, with over 40 years of sewing experience, I offer new garment construction, re-designing of vintage clothing, children’s fashions, adult and children’s Halloween costumes, garment repair and alterations, zipper replacement, suit tailoring, window treatments, and table covers for that special occasion.

My goal is to provide you with a wide variety of services, quality craftsmanship, and excellent customer service.  But don’t take my word for it.  Look around my website. Check out Showcase  for samples of my projects; then see what some of my customers have to say about my work in Testimonials.  Finally, click on Services for price list of my most common sewing requests.

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope to hear from you soon!

  • Theresa I was so pleased with the promptness Sheila responded to my "crisis".  My Mom's mink coat was falling apart and we needed it fixed for her Granddaughter's wedding ...

  • Phyllis Talk about fast.  I dropped 2 pairs of pants off to be hemmed, went to the Creighton game, and picked them up on the way home.  Thanks, Sheila!!
